Previous posters are right – Nervous Shakedown as the lead single was greeted with absolute dismissal by reviewers, mainly based on being tired on wall-to-wall AC/DC, not the material. Brain Shake, Flick of the Switch and This House Is On Fire would all be considered highlights on any other album – not just any subsequent one, but holding their own with any previous – but they just seemed to slink under the radar. From Rising Power's brilliant one-two-three raindance beat and demon-raising climax, through the menacing, sludgy lurch of Nervous Shakedown, the mania of Landslide and Guns for Hire, this is some of their best, most hip-shaking, foot-stomping work. After the bloat of FTATR (hey, not necessarily a bad thing, it works more than it doesn't), they got their groove back – literally.
